    ORDINANCE 285 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND, REVISE, AND RE-ENACT SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 166 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AS AMENDED, AND TO REPEAL ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, do ordain as follows: Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 166 of the City of Las Vegas, entitled: "An Ordinance of the City of Las Vegas regulating the erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving, removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area, and maintenance of all buildings and/ or structures in the City of Las Vegas; providing for the issuance of permits, and collection of fees therefor; providing penalties for the violation thereof; declaring and establishing Fir Zones, repealing Ordinances Nos. 144-27-59- 6l-and 72 of the City of Las Vegas and all other Ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict therewith." shall be and the same is hereby amended, revised and re-enacted so that the same shall read as follows: "Section 1. That, a certain document, three (3) copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Las Vegas, being marked and designated as "Uniform Build­ing Code, 1943 Edition, published May 1, 1943, by Pacific Coast Building Officials' Conference", be and the same is hereby adopted as the building code of the City of Las Vegas for the regulation of the erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving, removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area and maintenance of all buildings and/or structures in the City of Las Vegas; providing penalties for the violation of such building code; declaring and establishing zones; and each and all the regulations; provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of such "Uniform Building Code, 1943 Edition, published May 1,1943, by Pacific Coast Building Officials' Conference", on file in the office of the City Clerk are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this Ordinance." Section 2. All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. But it is specifically provided that neither the amendment hereby made to said Ordinance nor any repeal hereby provided shall effect in any way any prosecution for the violation of said Ordinance pending at the time of the going into effect of this Ordinance. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its passage, adoption and publication for two successive issues in the Las Vegas Evening Review Journal a daily newspaper printed and published in the City of Las Vegas. Section 4. The City Clerk of the City of Las Vegas is, hereby authorized and directed to have this City Ordinance published in the Las Vegas Evening Review Journal a daily newspaper printed and published in the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, for a period of two weeks, that is to say, once each week for a period of two weeks. Bates This ordinance was read aloud to the Board of Commissioners at a regular meeting held on the 2nd day of September, 1943, at which time it was proposed, considered and voted upon , and unanimously adopted and thereafter published in the Las Vegas Evening Review, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas, for a period of once a week for two consecutive weeks immediately following its first reading. And, it was thereafter read aloud to the Board for a second time at a regular meeting of the Board held on the 16th day of September, 1943.
