In regard to adohe brick, and note that-a man named Parker has been sent down i;here to look after some fire clay, "by Mr»Whittemor@, and that you are having him make some hrick at §4,25 per thousand, which includes laying, and that you are to hoard he knd his men at $1.00 per day, I believe it will he cheaper, as you say, to have this work done in this way. I note that you have agreed with him to make about fifty or sixty thousand.’ I would not advise making any more of these hrick than we actually need} 1 would advise that you figure out what you will need,and have him make them so we will not have any surplus, which would he lost. your letter of October 26th, as you will use these hrick for this pur­pose. I have instructed the Purchasing Agent not to ship you this siding. I also think it essential that we have a good fruit and root cellar, so I would advise that you have this made at the time the man make arrangements with one of our contractors to include it in another * car for Ivanpah and thereby obtain a carload rate on same.
