      On Track
Soror Ethel Archibald is the committee chair for the ON TRACK Program.
Theta Theta Omega Chapter has adopted the children of Carson Elementary School located on J Street in North Las Vegas, Nevada. Principal, Linda Gibson is thrilled to have sorors give the extra learning experiences to the students in her charge. We work with the building facilitators, Judith Ingham and Soror Cynthia Ireland with setting up a tutorial and mentoring program that will allow sorors to work with an assigned student
in third grade and will continue to follow that same student as they complete the elementary grades. This is the commitment sorors in our chapter have signed on to provide community service, and to insure that the children are ON TRACK by the time they enter the middle school level.

years after it was created, six teen women are credited as founders of the womens’ so cial organization with more than 170,000 members in
more than 900 chapters around the globe.
“I was very impressed with the AKAs,” Caffey said when asked why she pledged America’s first Greek-letter organization primarily for African-American college women. “I liked the way they looked. I liked the way they acted. I liked what they stood for. I was honored to join them.”
Dr. White is a retired edu cator who has 37 years of service to secondary educa
Fund, Florida A&M Uni versity, and her sorority.
She is the recipient of many awards and honors, and has authored books — especially for the ladies of the pink and green — as well as curriculum materi als used in kindergarten through 12th grade.
On a lighter note, Dr. White’s mother, Ruth C. Solomon, is also her soror ity sister.
