Founders' bay was held Saturday, February 7, 2004 at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino. The theme for this year was "Keeping the Spirit of AKA Alive." We had over 250 guests and sorors in attendance. The Founders' bay Entertainers, directed by Soror Clair Hart saluted the founders with a skit and several songs. What an extraordinary performance! The keynote speaker was Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange from the U.S. bistrict Court of Western Oklahoma. She received a standing ovation for her passionate speech about keeping the AKA spirit alive. Proclamations were presented to Judge Miles-LaGrange by Councilwoman Lynette Boggs-Mcbonald and Commissioner Yvonne Atkinson-Gates. The spectacular event ended with the signing of our national hymn. Special thanks to Soror Frances Perry, chairman, and the Founders' bay Committee for making this a very memorable day. Job well done!
