INFORMATION: HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP
Theta Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Alpha Sorority, Inc. is planning to award scholarship funds to African American young ladies interested in continuing thetr education and preparing for economic and social independence.
These funds may be used toward tuition, the purchase of text books and /or special fees after they have oficially enrolled in a trade or technical school, college or university upon graduation from high school.
ELIGIBILITY
Scholarship assistance will be available to young ladies who:
*
have maintained a cumulative average of C+ or better
have graduated from high school
*
have enrolled full time in a designated institution
*
intend to work toward a degree or certificate of completion in a trade or technical school, college or university
*
have received appropriate and favorable recommendations from counselors or dean
SELECTION
Selection of applicant will be based on:
*
the eligibility requirements
*
the recommendation of the respective counselor or dean
*
completion of the application form in detail
CONDITIONS OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
Theta Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Sorority request that a copy of the application be forwarded to the scholarship committee who in turn will present each application to the chapter for reveiw, evaluation and selection.

Action Taken: 1. Goal: To enhance the role of AKA in fostering and
recognizing achievement in our community
2. Action plan:
(a) to award 4 five-hundred dollar scholarships
(b) to award Certificates of Achievement to all applicants
(c) to sponsor an essay contest during Black History Month 1999
3. Schedule — Revised and approved dates as follows:
(a) deadline for scholarships is Tuesday, March 31, 1998;
AKAteens who are seniors and relatives of sorors should be
encouraged to apply
(b) applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the committee
on Wednesday, April 8, 1998 5:30 PM at Soror Barbara
LeBron’s house
(c) a reception will be held for scholarship winners, other
applicants, and their parents on Saturday, May 2, 1998
(2:00 PM) prior to regular sorority meeting
(d) the sorority will contribute our fee of $100.00 to participate in
B-Con (usually the last Sunday in May)

As a means of encouraging special talents, outstanding scholastic abilities, and high ethical standards among senior high school students, Theta Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. plans to award scholarship funds to African-American young ladies interested in continuing their education.
Enclosed is a packet containing scholarship information, applications, eligibility requirements, application requirements, and deadline requirements. Please distribute this information to alPstudents who meet the requirement guidelines.
