NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the recommendation of the Regional Planning Commission that Coy Sparks be granted permission to conduct a beauty shop business in an R-4 (Apartment Residence) Use District, located on Lot 6, Block 5, HFM&M Addition, be and the same hereby is approved, provided, however, that said use be commenced in accordance with the time limit provided by ordinance. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Bunker and Peccole. REZONING - Public The recommendation of the Regional Planning Commission dated December 31, 1951 on the Hearing Date Set - request of L. B. Scherer for rezoning of 75 lots in Block 4 and 5, Boulder Dam Homesite BDH Addition,Tract 1 Addition, Tract No. 1 from R-1 to R-2, was read to the Board. Commissioner Jarrett moved the public hearing on the proposed rezoning of the 75 lots in Block 4 and 5. Boulder Dam Homesites Addition, Tract No. 1 from R-1 to R-2 be set for February 6, 1952 at the hour of 7:30 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Bunker and Peccole. SUNRISE ACRES SCHOOL The request of the Las Vegas Union School District for additional land for school pur- Request for Additional poses, said land adjoining the Sunrise Acres School, as recommended by the Regional Land Planning Commission, was held in abeyance until January 16, 1952 so that a map of the property owned by the City in that area could be prepared. GEORGE HARRIS PROPERTY A report from the Building Inspector on the property located at 4th and Ogden, owned 4th & Ogden by Mr. George Harris, was read to the Board at this time. Mr. Harris was present and requested that the Board take no action on this matter at this time. Thereafter Commissioner Jarrett moved that action on this report be deferred until the next regular meeting on January 16, 1952. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Bunker and Peccole. DISINTERMENT OF MRS. Commissioner Whipple moved the action of the Board of December 19, 1951 be rescinded ELLA MORELAND in regards to the payment of the Claim of Mrs. Mary Madden, on the advise of the City Attorney. Commissioner Whipple moved that the Superintendent of the Cemetery proceed with the disinterment of the remains of Mrs. Ella Moreland and Mrs. Madden be given an opportunity to select a location agreeable to her in the Cemetery, that a minister be provided to officiate at the disinterment and reinterment services, and not less than 15 days notice be given to Mrs. Madden of the removal proceedings. REQUEST TO PURCHASE The request of Mr. Sam P. Lipkin, 109 North Sycamore Street, Los Angeles, California CEMETERY to purchase Woodlawn Cemetery was considered at this time. Commissioner Whipple moved that Mr. Lipkin be notified that the City is not interested in disposing of the Cemetery at this time. REQUEST TO LEASE Commissioner Whipple moved the request of Trans-Nation Outdoor Advertising Co., Inc. CITY PROPERTY of Rialto, California to lease City property located on the Los Angeles Highway for outdoor advertising space be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Bunker and Peccole. PROPOSED ORDINANCE Commissioner Whipple, member of the committee for recommendation on the proposed Plumbing Code ordinance adopting the Plumbing Code requested additional time before reporting. PROPOSED ORDINANCE Commissioner Jarrett, member of the committee for recommendation on the proposed Minor Ordinance ordinance amending the Minor Ordinance, requested additional time before reporting. INCREASE IN BURIAL Commissioner Jarrett moved the increase in charges pertaining to the handling of FEES burials in the Cemetery as recommended by the Superintendent of Woodlawn Cemetery in his memorandum to the City Manager dated December 13, 1951 be approved, said fees to be as follows: Cement Vault or Steel Vault $34.50 Concrete Sectional Wood Box 28.75 Adult Grave opening and closing in County Plot 17.25
