Annual Report The Jewish Federation 1 O F LAS VEGAS 5773 ? 2012 The Jewish Federation Annual Report 0F LAS VEGAS D ear Friends and Supporters, We are proud to present this brief summary of our Jewish Federations achievements this past year highlighting some of our important accomplishments as the Center for Jewish Philan-thropy and Community Development for our Las Vegas Jew-ish community. We remain passionately committed to our vi-sion of seeing "more Jews, doing Jewish" as we continue to build strong collaborative partnerships with our beneficiary agencies and organizations to support and sustain Jewish life at home, around the world and in Israel. We are grateful for the tremendous leadership provided by our volunteers who serve on our Board of Directors, Women's Philan-thropy Council, Jewish Emerging Leaders and each of our affinity constituent groups. We appreciate the hard work and dedicated service of our professional staff. We are thankful for the efforts of the volunteer leadership and staff of our beneficiary agencies for their devoted efforts. Most importantly, we are grateful for the generous outpouring of financial support from our contributors who collectively committed $2.7 million to the 2012 Jewish Federation Campaign...represent-ing a more than $1 million increase over last year's achievement! A special note of thanks to Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson and the Adelson Family Foundation for their Challenge Grant which matched "dollar for dollar" all new or increased gifts to this year's Jewish Federation Campaign. The Adelson Challenge resulted in more than 700 new and 400 increased pledges. These results enabled our Jewish Federation to significantly increase our grants and allocations for local, national, international and Israel based beneficiaries to more than $1.4 million. At the same time, we also helped to raise nearly $1.5 million in designated gifts for a variety of beneficiaries serving the local and global Jewish community. Our financial resource development efforts totaled $4.881 million. This is the first time in four years that we did not have to withdraw funds from our reserves in order to make our allocations and meet our obligations. We look forward to our financial resource development efforts increasing as we launch the 2013 Jewish Federation Campaign. We will once again benefit from the Adelson Challenge which will match, "dollar for dollar," all new and increased gifts made to this year's campaign. We also look forward to launching our "Create Your Jewish Legacy Campaign" through our Jewish Community Foundation. Our Jewish Federation was actively engaged in other arenas as the Center of Jewish Philanthropy and Community Development. We anticipate, with great enthusiasm, our Strategic Planning Process for our Jewish community's future with the assistance of Jeremy Aguerro and Applied Analysis of Las Vegas. We will continue to work closely with our two largest beneficiaries and partners, the Jewish Family Service Agency and Jewish Community Center, to develop strategic plans and programs to meet the needs of our community. We will continue our community relations work within the Jewish community as well as the greater Las Vegas community through our relationships with other non-profits, elected officials and governmental agencies. All this while maintaining our ongoing programs, activities, resources and services at their highest levels.
