I agree.U'*' MAY 119643 Please refer to Mr. Groome's letters to me dated April 16,*’'1963, and May 8, 1963, covering retirement of 70,000 gallon steel water tank at Arden, Nevada, heretofore used in connection with locomotive water facilities. Mr. Groome states that the water was supplied by direct lines from Cottonwood Springs, and his inquiry is whether or not there is a Certificate of Appropriation for this water which might be jeopardized by retiring the tank. I have searched my files and am unable to locate any record of a Certificate of Appropriation from the State of Nevada for water from Cottonwood Springs. I will appreciate your advising me if you have such a record and furnishing me a copy of the Certificate of Appropriation, if available. If unavailable, I will then take the matter up with the State Engineer. However, before I do so, it would be helpful if I knew whether or not a certificate for the appropriation of this water was ever secured by the Railroads. Sincerely, § 9 K j t - r y CALVIN M.
