I agree.las Vegas - July 12, 1934 W 23-3-5 Hon. H. W. Cragin, Mayor of las Vegas, las Vegas, Hevada. Bear Sir; For ready reference, I am quoting below my letter of May 5th, 1934, with regard to the waste of water in las Vegas: "During the past two or three years, we have been continually receiving complaints from water consumers about their neighbors permitting water to run over a long period of time, flooding their streets and alleys and causing a deterioration of their street paving, stagnant pools and bad odors, and ditches at street crossings full of water splashing on cars and causing a hazard to pedestrians . "Inasmuch as the water is sold to the people of las Vegas on a flat rate we have found it is of no avail to make request on the parties who cause these complaints, and we are unable to assist the City and property owners in stopping this bad practice. "We are passing this information to you, as the City seems to be the only one who can take the necessary action to protect the street paving and other pub lie properties which are being damaged by this misuse of water. "It will be appreciated if you will take some action through your Street Department to assist property owners so they will not be compelled to bring their Iroubles to this office, inasmuch as we are unable to help them in any way." 1
