ORDINANCE NO. 451 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 446 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS ENTITLED: “AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 1 AND 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 360 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A REGIONAL PLAN­NING COMMISSION AND AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA, TO COLLABORATE WITH THE GOVERNING BODIES OF INCORPORATED CITIES IN CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA, AND THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA, FOR THE CREATION OF A REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION." ALSO REFERRED TO AS CHAPTER 24, SECTIONS 1 AND 2 OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE, AND TO REPEAL SECTIONS 3 AND 4 OF ORDINANCE NO. 360 ALSO REFERRED TO AS CHAPTER 24, SECTIONS 3 AND 4 OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE." The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do ordain as follows: Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 446 is hereby amended to read as follows: There is hereby created a Regional Planning Commission pursuant to Section 4 of Section 5063.03 NCL to consist of twelve (12) members, five members of which shall be appointed by the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, five members of which shall be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Clark, and two members of which shall be appointed by the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the City of North Las Vegas. Section 2. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 446 is hereby amended to read as follows: The term of office of each member of said Regional Planning Commission shall be six years or until his successor is appointed and qualifies except that the respective terms of five of the members first so appointed shall be 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 years, All appointments to fill vacancies shall be for the unexpired term. All vacancies occurring in the Regional Planning Commission shall be filled by appointment by the governing body which first made the appointment. Section 3. Members of the Planning Commission may be removed after public hearing, by a majority vote of the governing body first making the appointment, for inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance of office, provided however, the missing of three consecutive meetings in a row is prima facie evidence of neglect of duty. Section 4. The City Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas shall cause this Ordinance No. 451 to be published once a week for two successive weeks immediately following its final reading and adoption, in the Las Vegas Review Journal, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas, APPROVED: __________s/ E.W.
