Law List, 27 Thistle street, Edinburgh, Scotland. 379 Pan-American Nations Sign Protocol to Recognize Powers of Attorney A protocol providing for simplification and uniformity of powers of attorney which are granted in one American republic for use in another member nation of the Pan- American Union has been signed by Secretary o f . State Cordell Hull. The * agreement does not change the laws of the contracting states insofar as they'regulate powers of attorney executed and utilized in the country itself, but merely affects those powers o f attorney prepared in one republic for use in another. It is stipulated that the powers of attorney granted in any of the member countries of the Pan-American Union which are executed in conformity with the rules of the protocol shall be given “ full faith and credit” in the other countries. The United States is the eighth country to sign the protocol, the others being Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama and Venezuela.
