O. Box 1448 handled In a strictly legal manner for the protection of the District and the bond holders. To this end I believe you may want to have a copy of the C ity Charter and 1 am requesting C o l. Clark to obtain and forward one to you as soon as possible. Apparently officials of the Union Pacific, parent company of the Las Vegas Land & Water Company, have become at least slightly concerned over Mayor Baker’s statement. M r. Johnson, now in charge of the utility here, called me on the phone just yesterday and stated that Mr. W illiam Reinhardt had caked him to discuss the situation with the District. I told M r. Johnson that we would require you to look Into this matter carefully and when you report your findings to furnish M r. Reinhardt with a copy. According to M r. Johnson, It also occurred to M r. Reinhardt that possibly there might be some provision In the Clark County Charter that would bear investigation. We would also refer this aspect to you and if you feel that It 1$ desirable or necessary to examine the County Charter, a copy can be obtained and forwarded. Very truly yours, LAS V E G A S VALLEY WATER DISTRICT TAC:ar enc. By______________________________________ *1 TH O M AS A. CAMPBELL, Pres. \ 11 \
