M. Montgomery to discuss the Las Vegas C ity water s itu a tio n . At the in v ita tio n o f the Board, I attended the meeting, Thomas A. Campbell, presiden t o f the Las Vegas V a lley Water D is t r ic t , advised the Board! 1, The D is t r ic t had submitted to the R ailroad Company, formal proposal dated August 25, 1952, to purchase the water production and d is trib u tio n f a c i l i t i e s , 2, I f the proposal was accepted by the R ailroad Company and bonds were approved by the Voters, in h is opinion, i t would be May 1, 1953 b e fo re the D is t r ic t would be in p o s itio n to take over operation o f the production and d is trib u tio n f a c i l i t i e s . Further, an a d d itio n a l s ix months would be requ ired to construct pip© lin e from Henderson, When it was apparent Lake Mead water-would not be available fo r use in the City until late 1953 0T early 195^* Mr, Montgomery was asked what could be don® to supplement the present City supply before the summer of 1953*
