m LAS VEGAS LAND MB WATER COMPANY* Los Angeles , March 7, 1919. Ells 1199 Mr* W. R. Bracken, Vice-President is Agent, Las Vegas, Nevada* Dear Sir,- Referrlng to your letter of February 20th, in regard to the matter of painting the roofs of the sixty-four Company houses at an estimated cost of $1000.00.' I have submitted this matter to Mr. Farrell, and he says that while he dislikes to see an expense of #1000.00 incurred at this time, he assumes that the roofs of the dwelling houses at Las Vegas require attention, and if this is correct, he concurs. Referring to your letter, also conversation with you, and conversation I have had with Mr. Maguire, in regard to the condition of the roofs, I feel that they should not be neglected, and it would probably be a loss to the Company to endeavor to carry them over another year without painting. This will be your authority to f proceed with the work along the lines outlined in your letter of February 20th, we to furnish the material, and the work to. be done under contract at the bid you received, if you cannot get any lower, viz. IlSO.OO for the entire job. I presume you can purchase the material from the Los Angeles M Salt Lake Railroad Company* I would have it understood with them that any material left over in packages unbroken should be taken back and credit given for same* or, if you could buy the brushes and paint in Los Angeles cheaper, that will be up to you to do* Very truly yours, cc—i • B.Farrell.
