Folger) Mr. Frank Strong) Referring to your le tte r o f January 6th, f i l e D 386-4, transmitting to me fo r approval and return statements for the month o f November, 1946, covering the water fa c ilit ie s at Las Vegas, bevada. I am returning these statements unapproved and request that you correct statement No. 3 showing the gallons of water recorded from report prepared by Supervisor o f Water. The correct quantity o f water furnished LVL&W Co, is 139.938.600 gallons. Due to the differen ce in elevation between the old and new reservoirs the water which passes through the Charleston Boulevard meter backs up through the Clark Street meter Into the old reservoir; therefore, to obtain the correct tota l o f water furnished LVL&W Co. we should add meter readings o f the west felde meter 17,859,600 gallons, the Ogden Street meter 17,178,000 gallons, and the Charleston Boulevard meter 110,582,000 gallons, total 145,619,@00, Deducting the amount o f water which backed through the Clark Street meter, as reflected by meter reading* of 5,681,000 gallons, It leaves a net of 139.938.600 gallons delivered to LVLAV Co. during the month of December. With my le tte r to you o f February 15th 1 returned ap­proved your reports for the month o f December and requested that you correct statement Ho. 3 showing the gallons o f water re­corded through water meters and non-metered at Las Vegas due to the fact that the correct amount of water delivered to the Las Vegas Land & Water Co. should be 166,482,000 gallons because the water backed through the Clark Street meter. The correct figures for arriving at quantity of water supplied LVL&W Co. during month o f ^D^cember are as follow s: West Side meter 17,989,000 Ogden St. meter 41,000,000 (estimate account „ . meter out o f order) Charleston Blvd. meter 115.341.000 Total 174,330,000 Less Clark St,meter 7.848.000 Net 166.482.000 I f you w ill furnish me a corrected statement fo r December, w ill c e r tify same as being correct.
