In view of our experience with the Train Li-it B i n and other unfavorable railroad legislation during this session of 'the Btate Legislature, where certain men were handicapped by their pre-election pledges, I strongly urge that we create without delay a political set-up of candidates who will not be antagonistic to the Interests of the railroad and the water oonpany. from rumors I hear around the town, a cer­tain. -former city official is being groomed for the office of Mayor, aid. his election to that office would put a different aspect on this threat of municipal ownership. As a matter of fact, the power company, which pur­chases its current from the B&llroad Company, seems to be as much car acre the target of this clique than the water company is, as you will note from the enclosed clippings. The power company has made two slight reductions in their rates during the past several months, the last on© effective February 1st of this year, and several of our customers have inquired when *# are going to make reductions in our water bills. le,'of course, have no in­tention of making any reduction in our water rates.
