Guerin & Fraday Due Here Yia Japan -** VAUBEviifu Paris, Sept. 29. With its first new show in two years set for Dee. 9, the Lido re- verts to an annual basis for chang- ing te spectacle. Though tho last nitery, entry was practically SRO, Lido* operators Pierre- Louis Guer- in and Rene^ Fraday feel that a yearly change would sit better with customers and also be more in line with the prestige of the boite. Besides, the yearly change of costumes is felt to warrant the extra effort of a new show. Hiked dinner prices at the Lido have also convinced them that this return to the old policy is the thing since many visitors- and French provinr erals* plus Parisians, come to the chib several tiriaes a year. New entry will be called ?╟úCa C?╟╓Est L?╟╓Amour?╟Ñ (That?╟╓s Love) and the highlight will be a circus num- ber with 16 horses dancing with the 16 Bluebell Girls and seals cavorting in the swimming popl. Format will remain the same, that of production numbers inter- spersed with specially, selected acts. Fraday leaves for Blackpool, London, Hamburg and Budapest this week looking for new offbeat acts. T|hen, Get. 6, he ahd Guerid head for the U S. via Tokyo. In Japan they will sign four nudes as part of the new policy to add Asiatic and colored girls to the present nudie setup. Then they hit the U.S. Coast with a looksee at the longrunning Las Vegas Lida entry. They come back in November to start rehearsals for the new show. Minimum remains $6 for drinks. Show will come in for an estimated $250,606. Bonn Arden stages and Folco and Fast again do costumes and sets, respectively, and Miss Bluebell handles the noted line. All showed up for the party and everyone had a ?╟úhall?╟Ñ. Donn, who is also choreogra- pher at the DESERT INN HOTEL, the MOULIN ROUGE in Hollywood and the LATIN QUARTER in Flori- da, is about the busiest of all we?╟╓ve ever known and certainly: deserves the wonderful tributes he receives daily from professionals and non-pro- fessionals alike. ... SOPHIE TUCKER, the one - the only, and the acknowledged Queen of Show Biz, so-o-o-o-o great in this appearance at HOTEL SAHARA, and THE AMES BROTHERS, ap- pearing with her, were just re-signed by the management to come back July 6th! Of course, TED SHAPIRO, long-time pianist for the Queen, will also be back. As a suggestion we advise all who wish to see _ Sophie Tucker and The Ames Brothers to make reservations now! . . .
