    OPENING OF BIDS No. 54.9 - 2½ Ton Truck No. 54.10 - Cash Registers BID NO. 54.11 Compressor for Cemetery ASSESSMENT DISTRICT No. 100-23 Public Hearing on Assessment Roll No. 29-1954 ASSESSMENT ROLL COPIED ON PAGE 129 This being the time set for the opening of bids on Bid No. 54.9 the 2½ Ton Truck with Hydro Aerial Tower for the Electrical Department, the following bids were received: A. C. GRANT $12,186.49 $11,652.60 SELLMAN MOTORS 11,428.84 HOWARD MOTORS 11,563.81 CASHMAN GMC CO. 12,485.69 INLAND SERVICE 13,154.00 CLARK COUNTY WHLSE 11,283.88 10,975.58 Thereafter Commissioner Bunker moved the foregoing bids be referred to the City Manager and Comptroller for computation and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. This being the time set for the award of the bid on the Cash Registers, Bid No. 54.10, the matter was considered by the Board. Thereafter Commissioner Sharp moved the bid of the National Cash Register Company in the amount of $7,025.00 be accepted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. At this time the Board considered the awarding of the bid on Bid No. 54.11 the Compressor for the Cemetery, and it was decided to hold this matter in abeyance until May 10, 1954. The Mayor Pro Tem announced that this was the continuance of the time and place designated for the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas Nevada to meet and review the assessments and hear any objections to said assessments which may be made on the proposed improvements in Assessment District No. 100-23, as shown on Assessment Roll No. 29-1954. The Mayor then asked if any written objections concerning said assessment roll had been filed in the office of the City Clerk. The City Clerk answered there had been no objections filed in her office prior to said meeting. The Mayor Pro Tem then publicly asked if anyone desired to make any further objections, suggestions or comments, or raise any questions concerning said special assessment roll. There were no objections, suggestions or comments voiced. Thereafter Commissioner Sharp moved the following resolution confirming the Assessment Roll on District No. 100-23, as amended, be adopted: WHEREAS, the City of Las Vegas in the County of Clark and State of Nevada, and the officers thereof, have taken action to improve certain streets and parts of streets therein; and WHEREAS, said City has created Street Improvement Assessment District No. 100-23 for the purpose of making said improvements; and WHEREAS, said City assessed the entire cost and expense of making said improvements, including all incidental expenses which may be legally in­cluded in the sums assessed against the owners and the assessable lots, premises and property specially benefited by such improvements and included within said District; provided however, no assessments were made against public property, but which proportionate amounts are to be paid in cash by said property owners or from the City's general fund; and WHEREAS, the said assessment roll was filed with the City Clerk on the 21st day of April, 1954; and WHEREAS, notice of said filing and the public hearing on said assess­ment roll were duly published and as required by the Charter of the City of Las Vegas; and WHEREAS, on May 3, 1954 a public protest hearing was held on said assessment roll; and WHEREAS, the assessor was directed to correct or revise said roll be­fore confirmation to correct typographical errors or clerical errors and to modify all assessments in accordance with the construction price and costs of the improvements; and WHEREAS, said revised roll has been filed; and WHEREAS, the time has now arrived to confirm the said assessment roll as revised. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas at a recessed regular meeting thereof, held on the 5th day of May, 1954, that revised Assessment Roll No. 29-1954 be and the same hereby is confirmed. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall endorse said confirma­tion on the said roll and forward the same to the County Assessor, Ex-Officio City Assessor for the placing of said assessments on the official rolls of the County of Clark, State of Nevada. 5-5-54
