    HAD ASSAH The Shoshanim Group The annual Youth Aliyah Luncheon sponsored by the Hadassah Shoshanim Group will be held on Sunday, February 25, 1996 at 11;30 a.m. at the Port Tack Restaurant at 3190 W. Sahara Ave Speakers will be Lori Lipman-Brown who will tell of her recent trip to Israel and Leah Sichel, a graduate of Youth Aliyah. A fashion show will be presented by Fashions by Irene. . Hadassah is the largest organizational sponsor of Youth Aliyah. Each year Hadassah fulfills a multimillion dollar commitment to Youth Aliyah's maintenance and educational programs. Hadassah funds scholarships and enrichment programs and is a major contributor to several of the Youth Day Centers for teenagers with learning or behavioral disabilities. For the new immigrants, the story isn't over upon arrival in the Promised land...it is just beginning. The young Russians, Ethiopians and other emigres are Israel's future These children could easily become the disenfranchised of Israel - were it not for Youth Aliyah. Youth Aliyah addresses the diverse needs of these groups and has been doing so since the first exodus of German orphans in 1934. Currently the Youth Aliyah population in 14,400. Youth Aliyah educates youngsters through a system of residential villages and day centers. At the residential schools, both vocational and academic training is offered in a warm and supportive atmosphere At the day centers, teenagers with learning or behavioral disabilities receive the education and special attention they need to function in society. A dedicated professional staff gives each youngster the personal care, guidance, and tools that allow them to break the pattern ofpoverty and become contributing members of society.
