Jeffers four letter October 3rd, file 353-24, in regard to new water rate schedule at Las Vegas : At the time ay K-1QS of September 2nd was seat you, we had not heard from the Nevada Commission. While the Commission1e decision was dated August 28th, it was not received until September 3rd; however, upon advice of our Legal Department, we deferred making effective the new rate schedule until we could determine the effect of the Commission*s decision and whether it would b© advisable to accept same. While we petitioned the Commission for reconsideration of its decision covering the features referred t© in my 1-851 of October 2nd, their supplemental order of September 24th reinstated the service charge of f5.00 covering each tapping of water main and we have aooepted their order, the new rate schedule accordingly being made effective October 1st. Our request in connection with the depreciation and water valuation features was denied. 1 regret very much that the discrepancy to which vou refer was not nronerlv emlained at the time.
