Johnson, Manager of the Las Vegas Land & B&ter Company, has been contacted and thru him we are advised that water service for our Ready-Mi aid Concrete Plant here in Lae Vegan at present is being classified w# *water for concrete work**. It is our understanding no precedent can be followed in classifying our operation for we are the only plant in Las Vegas utilising city water ssrvl©#. The rate for this useage, we understand, is 9§ cents per cubic yard of concrete baaed on our Monthly production. 7e feel Justified in requesting a re-’classification of our rate, on the basis that we are different rroa temporary users, such as concrete eonstmetorg coving froa Job to Job. w« have set up permanently in Las Vegas, having assumed the initial e.'g«nee of installing our waterline, in addition to sponsoring the project to Include an additional six oouaerlcol users of water, our present rate Is not in parity with adjoining eonsuaer** availing tfoesaelves of this service. On the basis of our present production, we are processing la the neighborhood of 2,400 cubic yards of concrete monthly, which at f% cents per cubic yard would result in a charge to ua of $132.00 per month, in this production we would us# from 30 to 38 gallons per yard, or from 72,000 to B4,noo gallons per month. The average per capita conauaotleri in Us Vega* of culinary water we are advised la about 750 gallons per day. This would result in & per capita use&ge of approximately 22,900 gallons per month. Residential users we understand pay under $3.00 per month for the 22,600 gallons whereas «• are being obliged to pay for this same gallon&ge appro jdbtwbwly eleven times as much.
