The Manager concurred with the Engineers recommendations. Following discussion, a motion was duly made by Director Cornwall, seconded by Director Rosevear, and unanimously approved by the five Directors present, that Change Order No. 2, extending the contract time, be approved; that contract Specification No. 11 be accepted, subject to raising of valve boxes on 25th Street; and assessment of liquidated damages in the amount of $5,350 as recommended by the Engineer and Manager. Messrs. Kenmir and Jones were excused from the meeting at this^ time. APPROVAL OF SPECIFICATIONS AND OTHER CONTRACT DOCUMENTS Manager Renshaw requested authority to advertise for bids for Gasoline, Regular Grade, and submitted the following for approval: Specification G-l, General Conditions Applying to Contracts for Purchase of Materials and Equipment; Specification S-3, Gasoline, Regular Grade; and Proposal for Contract No. 1, Furnishing Gasoline, Regular Grade. He explained that he was changing the general form of the contract documents by setting up a standard specification (G-l). containing all of the general conditions for contracts for purchase of materials and equipment and also setting up standard technical specifications for materials and equipment. The various bids taken would then be identified by contract number rather than specification number, and the applicable standard specifications incorporated by reference. The Notice Inviting Bids, Proposal forms, Bidders Bond, etc., which change with each bid, are being incorporated in a volume entitled "Rnpbsal fir Obntract Nv__,** The Proposal volume for the gasoline is entitled "Proposal for Contract No. jl, and SpecificationsG-1 and S-3 are incorporated by reference. He mentioned that he had discussed the new arrangement briefly with Attorney McNamee. Attorney McNamee advised that while he had not studied the forms in detail, they appeared to be in order, and any changes that he might suggest later would undoubtedly be minor, and he recommended approval. A motion was duly made by Director Cornwall, seconded by Director Thorn, and unanimously approved by the five Directors present, that the specifications and contract documents as submitted be approved, and that the Manager be authorized to advertise for bids for furnishing gasoline. CONTRACT NO. 2 - PURCHASE OF WATER METERS Manager Renshaw submitted for approval a Proposal for Contract No. 2 covering purchase of water meters, and requested authority to advertise for bids. He advised that the contract covered purchase of 1,000 additional water meters of various sizes. He explained that this bid was being set up in the same way as the previous one for gasoline, Standard Specification G-l and Standard Technical Specification S-2 (previously approved) being incorporated by reference. A motion was duly made by Director Rosevear, seconded by Director Cornwall, and unanimously approved by the five Directors present, that the Proposal for Contract No. 2, Purchase of Water Meters, be approved and that the Manager be authorized to advertise for bids. BILLING UNDER METERED RATES Manager Renshaw requested authority from the Board to commence billing under metered rates effective June 1, 1956, in Greater Las Vegas No. 1 and Francisco Park No. 2 Subdivisions.
