in New York City ?╟÷*- and since that time, Shubert had said that nobody came along who he thought had enough ability do the "Follies" until he spotted Entratter. In honor of the occasion, Entratter invited six ex*-Follies Girls to the opening at the Sands, wined and dined them in much the same manner they were used to in the old days when stage-door johnnies rolled the carpet out for the glamorous beauties?╜ The ex-show girls loved every minute of it ?╟÷ but claimed they made more money than today's chorus girl ?╟÷ including, of course, the "gifts" their stage-door johnnies brought them. The girls also admitted that the girls of today wore much more clothes onstage than they used to?╟÷ and they attribute this fact to the reason why there aren't so many stage-door waiters for the girls after the show J They also boasted that they worked much harder?╟÷ but enjoyed the work much more than today's chorus girls ?╟÷ whereas the 1954 Ziegfeld Follies Girls only did 25 minutes onstage, the older girls revealed they used to parade, swirl, wink and curtsy a full 80 minutes onstage in the old days ?╟÷ and loved every minute of it J The Ziegfeld Girls, old and new, couldn't wait to get together after the show at the Sands ?╟÷ and in good old-fashioned girlie bull-sessions, they exchanged a few facts of life J - more - Freeman company public relations BEVERLY HILLS CAL, ?╟≤ 214 N.
