I agree.Friday, October4,1974 ?╟÷ Las Vegas Review-Journal- Furrest ,'*Tfce Buke of Las Vegas" LV show biz academy's board of governors Newly-formed Academy of Variety & Cabaret ArtistSj_ which will sponsor the annual Las Vegas Entertainment Awards, has announced its Board of Governors, and it is a very impressive list, to say the least! Named to Board are Gov. Mike OfCallaghan, Sen. Howard Cannon, Mayor Oran Gragson, Bob Hope, Harry Wald, Richard 0. Linkc, Sammy Davis Jr., Frederic Apcar, Donn Arden, Breck Wall, and R-J columnist Earl Wilson. W? Forrest "The B%$ke of Lus Vegas"; Top LV entertainers on TV with Bob Hope The first ballots are in the mails today to select the winners in this year's Las Vegas Entertainment Awards competition with a total of 1,331 names included in 17 different categories. The winners will be presented on national television for the first time Nov. 20 with Bob Hope serving as Master of Ceremonies. But there's plenty of work to be done by the newly formed Academy of Variety & Cabaret Artists in the next six weeks in putting the show together. After the initial ballots are returned the task of selecting the six finalists in each category falls on the CPA firm of Alexander Grant & Co. These will then go on a second ballot mailed to the entire Academy membership with the results kept locked up until the show is filmed at Caesars Palace Nov. 1244. Both active and associate memberships are presently being taken by calling the Academy 735-8879. And right now the DLV would like to extend as special tip of the or golf cap to Breck Wall who, in just four short years, has taken the Entertainment Awards from the drawing board to national television. With this kind of leadership the Awards could easily reach the stature of the Oscars and the Emmies in no time at sll!
