Los Angeles, Calif*, Mar# 14, 1924 Mr# A, Maguire: Please be referred to my letter of February 28th to the Mayor and Council at Cedar City, copy to yourself, in reference to water rates. This matter was brought up before the Council March 6th and the following decision made: Meters to be installed at the City's expense in the hotel, passenger depot and water tank; the freight depot and section houses not to be metered at present; the rates for the water to be in accordance with the Ordinances of Cedar City, copy / /) & of which is attached, and bills to be presented semi-annually. Mayor and Council advised that no contract would be entered into with the Eailroad Company for this water supply, but that bills would be rendered against the Bailroad Company for the water used at prices set out in the Ordinance. All connections from our facilities to city mains have been made at our expense and water used up to January 1st, 1924 has been paid for# The connections to our facilities are as follows: Hotel is served by 3" line from city main in Horth Firwt Street. The passenger depot is served by 3” line from city main in Main Street. The water tank is served by 4" line from City main in Main Street. The freight depot is served by 3" line from city main in First West Street. The section houses and bunk houses are served by a 3/4" line from city main in 4th West Street. If you desire any further information, please advise and I will arrange to obtain same# As to quantity of water, Council advised that they would make no guarantee in this respect; they reserved the right to limit us if the supply at any time ran short.
