If the figures as reported are proper, it appears that the information reported 'in item 4, "Maximum Water Supply" in your annual advices will not hereafter he required, and that the only information required from Mr. Strong’s office in future will he that as to maximum amount of water available. Please advise. Under item 6, "Collecting Canals and supply mains", on page 13 of the Report, we answered "Hone", and under item 7, "Transmission mains" we reported 230 feet of Cast Iron, 16 inch mains in use at first and at end of year, this being the same figure as has been reported for some years past, although item 10 of your letter of February 5, 1938 reports rfffi transmission mains in use as 9,750 ft. of 16" mains 11,395 ft. of 24" mains M v ij> Please confirm or correct my understanding that the figures given in your letter include the 16" and 24" mains rented from the Union " Pacific R.R.Co. under the terms of Contract Audit Ho. 7322, in addition to 230 feet owned by the L.V.L.& W.Co., in accordance with data compiled by Mr. R. D. Perkins, Valuation Engineer of the L.A.& S.L.R.R.Co., as given to Mr. R. L. Adamson in his letter of June 12, 1929, file 3703. Since the Report asks for information as to mains "in use", do you know of any reason why the total length of mains, used in providing the water supply, both owned and rented, should not be reported? ? -7. Under item 8, "Distribution mains" we reported the following lengths, in use at first and end of year, these same figures having been reported each year since 1934, and being based, per recommendation of Mr. Adamson, in his mailgram J-444, file 20-6-1 of March 8, 1930, on
