Las Vegas, Nevada May 26, 1954 CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING TO: SHIRLEY BALLINGER, City Clerk Las Vegas, Nevada A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, is hereby called to be held in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, on the 26th day of May, 1954, at the hour of 3:30 P.M. to consider the follow­ing matters: 1. Auction Permit 2. Assessment District No. 100-23 3. Approval of purchase of land from UPRR - Front portion of City Bams property. 4. Re-set public hearing on the vacation of Canosa Ave. 5. Berkely Square Subdivision - final map. 6. Request of City Manager for time off for Naval Training from June 7 to June 18 inclusive. s/ C. D. Baker___________ Mayor NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING TO: C. D. BAKER, MAYOR and to WENDELL BUNKER, REX A. JARRETT, HARRIS P. SHARP, HEED WHIPPLE, Commissioners and GEORGE H. ROUNTHWAITE, Acting City Manager and HOWARD W. CANNON, City Attorney of the City of Las Vegas. You and each of you will please take notice that pursuant to a call this day issued by Mayor Baker, a special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, will be held in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 5th and Stewart, on the 26th day of May, 1954 at the hour of 3:30 P.M. to consider the following matters: 1. Auction Permit 2. Assessment District No. 100-25 3. Approval of purchase of land from UPRR - Front portion of City Bams property. 4. Re-set public hearing on the vacation of Canosa Ave. 5. Berkely Square Subdivision - final map. 6. Jarrett ___________________________________________________ A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada held this 26th day of May, 1954 was called to order at the hour of 3:30 P.M. by His Honor Mayor Baker with the following members present: Mayor C. D. Baker Commissioner Wendell Bunker Commissioner Reed Whipple City Manager George Rounthwaite Asst. City Mgr. Robert W. Notti Asst. City Atty Ralston O. Hawkins City Engineer George Wade City Clerk Shirley Ballinger Absent: Commissioner Harris P. Sharp Commissioner Rex A. Jarrett City Attorney Howard W. Cannon Also Present: Mr. Dave Waddy of Silas Mason Engineering At this time the application of E. B. Rosenstiel and Phillip P. Wilensky for a permit to conduct an auction on June 3, 1954, to dispose of property form­erly owned by Brandley and Simmons at 1023 South 1st Street, was considered by the Board. At this time Commissioner Jarrett arrived at the meeting. Thereafter Commissioner Whipple moved this auction permit be granted subject to compliance with the ordinance governing auctions and auctioneers and to clearance from the Police Department.
