V'ZC - '£± SAN PEDRO, LOS ANGELES AND SALT LAKE RAILROAD COMPANY 1 R. E. WELLSJ GENERAL MANAGER., C. J. BALCH, ASSISTANT TO GENERAL MANAGER, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA. -Lease - J. R.. Westfall— L & 8.i, 6' „ Cj« ' ----MM'5* ft rn 2 mi Mr, H, Bancroft, Hr. J. Boss Clark, Special Committee. November 28th, 1911. irr/ L&c m-y ®# Dear Sirs:- Mr. Bancroft’s letter of November 3rd and Mr. Clark’s of the- 2nd, file 1543, approved a lease in favor of J. R. Westfall of Riverside, to cover rental of packing house authorised under appropriation No. 1101. When this was sent to Mr. Westfall he objected to the prevision which compelled him to pay the taxes ofi the property, stating that it was not his understanding that he was to do so. On recommendation from Mr. Cullen, coupled with the statement that Mr. Westfall was very friendly to this company and would undoubtedly route every car of freight over which he has control our way, amounting to probably 400 or 500 cars during the season, X instructed him to rewrite the lease, eliminating that feature, which I trust meets with your approval. It has now been signed by Mr. Wedtfall, and I enclose original to Mr. Clark for approval of the Board. ? I I i ' ///1 i /. 1 . Yours truly,
