Masterson, Manager Wisconsin State Fair | |?½i|||^Ipei West Allis 14, Wisconsin Dear Bills As a follow-up to our phone conversation of yesterday, which was made from the office of Jack Sntratter, Manager of Red Skelton, I am, herewith, authorized to submit to you and your Board a firm offer for the appearance of Red Skelton at the Wisconsin State Fair, August 10 through 14, 1962, consisting of one evening performance on each day of the engagement and not less than two, nor more than three, matinees during the dates specified hereinabove. Terms ?╟÷ $90,000 guarantee against 30% of the gross, whichever is greater. Skelton is to furnish three additional acts to round out the talent package and show which shall run approximately one hour and forty-five minutes. The acts to be utilised by Red will have appeal to young and old alike and you may rest assured, and have faith in Red?╟╓s ability and integrity as a showman, that the acts to be provided will be the very best. As 1 explained to you on the phone yesterday, Red has a firm offer to appear August 18 at the Illinois State Fair for two performances, in another package which he does not furnish, for $15,060, hence the reason for our decision to submit this shew the first five days of your Fair rather than the last five as previously discussed. At the risk of becoming redundant may 1 remind you that Red is the only comic in the business who has to beg off after working approximately one hour.
