AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 304 ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS CREATING AND ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONES"; BY ADDING CERTAIN DESCRIBED AREAS TO FIRE ZONES TWO AND TWO SPECIAL (2s); BY PRO­VIDING FIRE ZONES FOR: REZONED AREAS; AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Ve&as do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 4 of Ordinance No. 304 is hereby amended by adding the following described areas to Fire Zone #2: That area bounded by the east property line of North 5th Street, the west line of the alley between 12th and 13th Streets, a line 100 feet north of and parallel to the property line on the north side of Stewart Avenue and the center line of Fremont Avenue; all of Block 6, Ladd’s Addition; that area bounded by the alley north of Fremont Avenue on the north and the center line of Fremont Avenue on the south, and lying between the east property line of North l5th Street and the west property line of North Bruce Street; that portion of the south half of the southeast quarter of the southeast quarter (SE¼) of Section 33, T20S, R61E, MDB&M, lying south of Fremont Avenue, excluding therefrom the Lawrence Love Tract; Lots 11 to 17 in Block 8, Crestwood Addition; the east half (E½) of Block 22, Wardie Addition; Lots 27 to 32 in Block 24, Lots 11 to 32 in Block 23, all of Blocks 26, 27 and 28, Pioneer Heights Addition; the south half (S½) of plot known as Buol Land; Lot 1 of Beckley Subdivision; Lots 7 and 29 in Block 18; Lots 13 and 26 in Block 14 and all of Blocks 3 and 10, all situate in the South Addition; Lots 17 to 20 in Block 12, Lots 29 to 32 in Block 11, Lots 13 to 16 in Block 21, Lots 1 to 4 in Block 22, Lots 17 and 18 in Block 8, Lots 13 and 16 in Block 9, all situate in Clark's Las Vegas Townsite; Lots 1 to 3 in Block 21, Lots 1 to 12 in Block 13, Lots 1 to 12 and 18 to 22 in Block 7, Lots 1 to 17 in Block 1, all situate in Boulder Addition; all lots fronting on South "A" Street in Block 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of Boulder Addition; that area lying between the north line of Bonanza Road and a line 130 feet north of and parallel thereto and ex­tending west from the west line of "H” Street for a distance of 1800 feet. SECTION 2. Section 4 of Ordinance No. 304 is hereby further amended to include the following described areas in Fire Zone Two Special (2s): All of that area lying between the center line of South "A" Street and the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way, from Charleston Blvd, to New York Avenue; all of that area in Section 4, T 21 S, R 6l E, MDB&M, from the West Boundary of the Meadows Addition to the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way; all of that area in the north half (N½) of the south half (S½) of the southeast quarter (SE¼) of Section 28, T 20 S, R 61 E, MDB&M; all of that portion of the northeast quarter (NE¼) Section 4, T 21 S, R 6l E, MDB&M, lying west of the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way not already zoned residential. SECTION 3. Any areas hereafter rezoned by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas to C-1, C-2, or C-S, shall immediately upon such rezoning be considered in Fire Zone No. 2. SECTION 4. Any areas hereafter rezoned by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas to M-1 or M-2 shall immediately upon such rezoning be considered in Fire Zone No. Two Special (2s). SECTION 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed. SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its publication as in the next section provided, and final passage. SECTION 7. The City Clerk and the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas shall cause this ordinance to be published once a week for two successive weeks immediately following its first reading and adoption, in the Review Journal, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas. s/____________Reed Whipple__________________ ATTEST: Mayor Pro Tem s/______ Shirley Ballinger______________ City Clerk The above and foregoing ordinance was first proposed and read by title to the Board of Commissioners on the 4th day of February, 1953 and referred to the following committee composed of Commissioners Bunker and Peccole for recommendation; thereafter the said committee reported favorably on said ordinance on the 18th day of February, 1953, that at said meeting held on such day, the proposed ordinance was read in full to the Board of Commissioners as first introduced and adopted by the following vote: Voting "Aye": Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple Voting "Nay": None Absent: Mayor Baker_______ s/ Reed Whipple_________________ ATTEST: Mayor Pro Tem s/____Shirley Ballinger________________ ORDINANCE NO. 325
