I agree.w V y ^ * ip- THE ASSOCIATED PRESS P. O. BOX 54247. TERMINAL ANNEX LOS ANGELES. CALIF. 90054 TEL: 213-746- 1200 April 30, 1968 Dear Al, Just a short note to thank you for a most enjoyable stay at The Sands. As usual everything was just great and completely perf fe&k3 Ifm sorry we werenft able to get together for a visit "but the phone company hadn!t installed all the equipment and LD lines we had ordered. So I spent much of my free time at the News Bureau getting these things in and tested for the next day1s transmissions. Along these same lines I have never seen things so completely unor^aniged as they were at the Stardust* In ta,Iking with several of the fellows from the major press services and papers I found that press credentials for the Tournament of Champions were inadequate aaid incomplete. It was with great reluctance that they finally gave the Times and myself parking passes and press kits. Press representatives from the Stardust were conspicious "by their absence at the course. It wasn't till the last two days of the Tournament that I finally met them. In fact it was the general feeling that if you vterm't staying at the Stardust you were not included or invited to several of the functions connected with the Tournament. Their lack of routine courtesies that are standard proceedures at any sports event were v&ry evident. It would he a great day if someone of your ability and know-how could handle the Tournament some y?½ar* 1*11 be back in your town this June for the California Press Photographers Convention and to celebrate my daughter1s twenty-first birthday; and I hope I can get &?½&y from my duties as secretary so that we might get together for a visit to talk over old ,JA~Bomb Tests," and the like. The best to you and yours, Sincerely
