Following a brief discussion, Manager Renshaw recommended that the District accept the proposal submitted by the State Highway Department, since the refund payments waived under the proposal would more than offset the reduction for the service connection within two years. A motion was duly made by Director Rosevear, seconded by Director Coulthard, and unanimously carried by the seven Directors present, that the Manager’s recommendation be approved. SPECIFICATION NO. 5. SCHEDULE I - REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL PAYMENT The Board considered the following letter received from Fisher Contracting Company requesting additional payment under Specification No. 5» Schedule I. "Las Vegas Valley Water District 23 January 1956 P. 0. Box 1109 Las Vegas, Nevada Attention: Mr. W. C. Renshaw Engineer and Manager Subject: Specification No. 5» Whitney Pumping Station Gentlemen: In reviewing our records for this job, we believe we have not been issued a Change Order for additional work, authorized by the Engineer, for cleaning up Switchgear at Whitney Pumping Station. This item of district furnished equipment had been soaked and fouled by flood waters while stored at the West Charleston Reservoir Yard, making it necessary for our Electrical Subcontractor, The Acme Collins Company, to tear down, clean, dry, bake out, reassemble and test the various components of this assembly prior to installation. Our charges for this work are set forth in our enclosed Invoice. We request, respectfully, that you issue a Change Order to cover. Very truly yours, FISHER CONTRACTING CO. /s/ E. F. SHAIFER Assistant Chief Engineer" Manager Renshaw noted that under the specifications the Contractor was supposed to accept delivery of the material, and that the District allowed it to be stored at the reservoir as an accomodation to the Contractor until he was ready to use it. He also noted that the contract had already been accepted by the District and final payment made.
