His Starlight Spectacular 1 Stage and Aqua Show, load I ed with dazzling costumes [pretty girls, swimmers, aeri- lalists and comic divers, will I play throughout the summer I at the big Palos Verdes I oceanarium. This outdoor follies, like Mr. Sennes' indoor entertain- ment spectacles; doesn?╟╓t stint on showy display and con- sequently gives your mon ley?╟╓s worth. Pictorial Effects Some ; of the technical bloopers' will be smoothed out before long and this lav- ish water carnival ought to shake down to a nice balance of feats of* skill, pictorial ef- fects and comedy. The Starlight Spectacular [uses a large outdoor' pool formerly occupied by Ma- rineiand?╟╓s porpoise clan who have been domiciled else- where for the summer. Mermaids have replaced the former tenants. The Aquabelles, led by swimmer Jack Aull, splash in intricate geometric patterns, And divers Mack Brown, Val In- man/ 'Russ Sanders and Paula Del toss off some ex- pert acrobatics from the high board. y Arden Revues The Sky Devils perform their aerial act on a 70-ft. tower and a crew of comic divers, including Orwin Har- vey and the Dilly Dallies, earn a good laugh rating top- pling off lojyer heights. Production numbers have been lifted out of past Mout lin Rouge shows and re* staged at the marine amph'i* theater by their originator, Donn Arden, who makes use of a ramp built out over the water. One of the best acts in the show is the peripatetic Waz- zan Troupe, jumping-jack acrobats, one arid all. # Paul and Paulette are fine trampoline artists and the Los Gatos Trio performs tricky lifts and other acro- batics. Singer Jack Wallace augments the comedy wing. Fireworks brighten the sky with all the boom and splendor of a Fourth of July celebration, bringing to an end this first edition of Mr. Sennes?╟╓ aqua show. Los Angeles, Calif.
