    Memo to File: Las Vegas - August 13, 1953 W 23-1-1-E With regard to the maintenance of power line facilities now serving the water production field in Las Vegas which have been turned over to the Las Vegas Land and Water Company, and which will be operated and maintained by the Las Vegas Land and Water Company without the benefit of assistance from Railroad Company forces, I had this date contacted Mr, Compton of the Southern Nevada Power Company, and he has agreed to take care of any emergency repairs to power transmission facilities which may occur, Mr# Compton stated that he was willing to do this on a temporary basis without any written agreement. He also stated that several other concerns in the City had requested similar service from him but he had consistantly refused to provide this sort of service. However, Mr* Compton agreed that in the case of the Water Company he would be willing to take care of us, at least until the bona election is held and it is defin&tely determined whether or not the Water Company will be sold to the Water District or will continue Company. to operate as a Water Mr. Compton stated that in the event the bond issued failed, it would be necessary for Water Company to make other arrangements, which I told him that would be satisfactory to this Company. It has been arranged that when emergency repairs are required, he will make wtohuel dn ecbee ssaaprpyr orveepda ibrys mea.nd send us a bill to cover, which I told him With regard to repairs to motors and other electric equipment, not covered by power transmission facilities, I have arranged with the Las Vegas Electric Company, address is 1119 South Main Street, Las Vegas, Nevada (phone ^50) to provide us with any electrical service required on the basis of 2k hours a day, Mr. Doyle has in his shop, the names and phone numbers of four employees of the Electric Company who can be reached any hour of the day for emergency repairs.
