Dear Sorority & Fraternity Member,
1 he West Las Vegas Arts Center invites you to “Halley’s Comet” starring Emmy Award-
Nominee John Amos, best known for his portrayal as Kunta Kin to in Alex Halley’s
“Roots’’ and the lovable but hard-nosed father James Evans on the television series Good
Times. “Halley’s Comet,” also written and directed by Mr. Amos, is destined to become a
classic.
John Amos will perform “Hailey’s Comet” on February 28 and March 1, 1997 at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $15 general admission.
“Halley’s Comet” has received an impressive response from the various arts agencies. The
production is co-sponsored with the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District with
additional funding from the Nevada Humanities Committee, Citi-Bank, the Greenspun
Family Foundation, Clark County District Courts, and the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino.
We are also pleased to share with you that Mr. Amos is also scheduled to conduct a
symposium with our community youth in the middle schools as a special outreach activity.
Your participation in our advance ticket sales promotion will help us secure a successful
event. We would appreciate your efforts in selling a block of at least 10 tickets. By advance
arrangements, a group discount of 15% for 20 or more persons is available. An
acknowledgement of your patronage will be included in the John Amos “Halley’s Comet'W
program. Please respond by February 15, 1997.
We are proud to be part of the community’s cultural growth and development and hope you
will support us. Please call 229-4800 for more information.
Once again, thank you for your continued support.
b Sincerely, iL
