I agree.\ MEMO s Aug. 4, 1920. Pile 44 J5 PERSOKAI.. Mr. A. S. Halsted; Do you feel that the time is opportune for the Railroad to increase the price charged the las Vegas Land and Water Company for water at Las Vegas, thus enabling the Land and Water Company to raise the subscription price, in talking with Mr. McUaraee a few days ago he tells me that there is no distributing company in the State which maintains anything like the low rate which is charged at Las Vegas. The lines there are not metered and this results in a prdtdigal waste of water. The flat rate of $1.00 is hardly fair for the benefit conferred. The Railroad Company is now drilling an auxiliary well at Las Vegas, and if a raise is to be made, it seems to me that now is the time to undertake it. I sup-posemwe would have to go before the Commission and secure its authority. C.P.Smith.
