Las Vegas - July 18, 1946, *-83 Hr. Frank Strong: 6 Please note attached from Assistant Superintendent regarding bill for $367.So covering repairs to a broken sewer main across Las Vegas Creek In the Slltmore Addition. Sines reoelrlng this memo I have endeavored to seoure some Information on the subjeot. Larkin advises the sewer main was damaged by dragline oleanlng out tha orekk. He sent the bill to tha City and they returned It to Simp he sent It to Horrlson-Knudsen Company who also returned It with advice that they were partially responsible but did not feel that they should pay tha full ooet because the former vitrified olpy line was replaced with oaet Iron. So now he la billing the Railroad Company. Hie charge Is esorbltant for repairing a break In a dewer line but Larkin advisee that thle Is due to the faot that the ooffer dam broke loose before the oement was set and they had to do the Job over again. I do not feel that the Railroad Company Is responsible for this bill but certainly someone should pay the plumber for his work. l assume Horrlson-Xnudsen were oovered by publlo liability Insurance.
