Smith.5 Our conversation in regard to rppairs of bean warehouse at Hartville* This house was designed for flopr load of 400# per square foot, which with our factor of safety of four would not cause any damage until they got their loading up to 1500 or 1600# per square foot* Owing to the bottom dropping out of the bean market, these people stacked this house fulli of beans, and we estimated the floor load about 1500 to 1600#, and as a result a small portion of the floor on the west end gave way, which will dost in the neighborhood of #95 to repair* As this frame building was never designed for such heavy loads, I think we would be justified in billing the bean company for this damage.
