ORDINANCE NO. 461 AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING CITY EMPLOYEES TO SUBSCRIBE TO AN OATH OF LOYALTY DISAVOWING SYMPATHY WITH SUBVERSIVE ACTIVITIES AND PROVIDING FOR THE REGISTRATION OF SAID EMPLOYEES; AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Every person now in the employ of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, and every person who shall make application for appointment or employment shall, as a condition of such appointment or employment take the following oath: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support, protect and defend the constitution and government of the United States, and the constitution and government of the State of Nevada, against all enemies whether domestic or foreign, and that I will bear true faith, allegiance, and loyalty to the same, any ordinance, resolution, or law of any state convention or legislature to the contrary notwithstanding.
