    ORDINANCE NO. 212. AN ORDINANCE TO PROHIBIT THE DRINKING OF INTOXICATING LIQUORS IN ANY PUBLIC PLACE OR IN VEHICLES IN ANY PUBLIC PLACE IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, AND PROVIDING A - PUNISHMENT THEREFOR. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do ordain as follows: Section 1. For the purpose of this ordinance a "public place" shall be defined to be any street, alley, sidewalk, thoroughfare, vacant lot, public park, school or municipal premises, or entrance of any store, hotel, or other public building, in the City of Las Vegas, Nevada. Section 2. Any person who shall drink any intoxicating liquor in any public place as herein defined, or in any vehicle in any public place, in the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not to exceed One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), or imprisoned in the City jail for a period not exceeding fifty (50) days, or shall be punished by both such fine and imprison- ment. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and publication. Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized to have this ordinance published in the Las Vegas Review Journal, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas, once a week for a period of two weeks. Proposed, read aloud in full and adopted, this 15th day of November, 1934, by the follow­ing vote: Commissioners Arnett, Marble, German and Down and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes hone. Published in the Las Vegas Review-Journal a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, once a week for two weeks, to-wit: November 16 and November 23, 1934. Read the second time and passed this 4th day of December, 1934, by the following vote: Commissioners Arnett, Marble, German, Down and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none.
