Los Angeles, October 8, 1952 7334 Mr. R. L. Adamson: / (GC - Mr. Wm. Reinhardt) Attached is rough estimate of cost to construct a 30,000,000-gallon reservoir together with pipe lines and pumping stations, all of which are indicated on preliminary-prints furnished by James M. Montgomery Co. in connection with Mr. Montgomery’s study of additional facilities required to improve water supply at Las Vegas. The reason for estimating pipe lines and pumping stations in addition to the reservoir is that these facilities will be required to make the reservoir operable. estimated cost to drill 2 - 16tt wells to a depth of 800 feet, which may be given consideration as a means of providing additional water to fill proposed reservoir and supplement our present supply. my estimate to the design and location of proposed reservoir and pipe lines as indicated on Sheets 2 and 5 of Mr. Montgomery’s plans, without giving any weight to my own ideas of design, which differ radically in some respects. In addition, no soil tests have been made at reservoir location, and it has been necessary for me to assume a very difficult soil condition based on my knowledge of general conditions in this vicinity. it will be noted that approximately 1300 ft. of 36” pipe line crosses over privately-owned land for which an easement or right-of-way will be required. One photostatic copy of Mr. Montgomery’s plans is attached hereto. In addition to the above, I have also shown the In making the above estimates, I have confined By reference to Sheet 2 of Mr. Montgomery’s plans, ?vs a 4 -Vs n 4- n t s y s s s a v 4 vw o t t 1 "H A
