LOS ANGELES, February 3, 194O2ffice of EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT FEB 3 1942 M r. W. H . Guild: LOS a n q &les, c a l if , In connection with your proposed speech in Las Vegas, I thought you might be able to work into it certain data which has been accumulated by Mr. Sexton, Chairman of the Public Service Commission of Nevada, and taken from the annual reports of the Nevada Public Service Commission or the annual report of the State Controller of the State of California. The most pertinent part of this information relates, first, to the daily consumption in gallons per individual in certain cities and the number of gallons delivered per $1*00 of revenue. This latter figure is a mathematical calculation based on the number of gallons used in the respective cities and the total receipts from the respective water companies. With respect to Nevada it was impossible to secure information concerning certain of the cities, but we have the daily consumption in gallons per individual for $ > . Lovelock Fallon Wlnnemucca Las Vegas Reno 120303 gallons gallons 183 gallons 396 gallons 469 gallons The latter is possibly high due to the fact that no meters are permitted and they have an unlimited supply from streams, as well as wells. Considering the total gallons used during the year and the total revenue of the water companies operating the system, we find the number of gallons per $1.00 for Lovelock Fallon Elko Carson City Winnemucca Las Vegas Reno 3,624 5,553 3,333 5,777 250,091 ,355 14,294 (includes Sparks) gallons gallons gallons gallons gallons gallons gallons
