    The Manager advised that this would be one of the elements of cost which would have to be considered in deciding whether or not to establish the station. Miss Woods advised that Mr. McCracken of the Gas Company had handled the arrangement for a collection station for the Gas Company in North Las Vegas and was thoroughly familiar with all of the problems involved. CONSIDERATION OF OBTAINING OPINION FROM Q’MELVMY & MYERS RELATIVE TO EFFECT OF PUTTING DISTRICT UNDER PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION Since there is a possibility that legislation may be introduced to place the Water District under the Public Service Commission, the Board agreed to request opinions from Attorney McNamee and O’Melveny & Myers relative to the effect such action would have on the District. Attorney McNamee agreed to furnish an opinion and President Campbell agreed to write O’Melveny & Myer3 requesting that they furnish an opinion on the matter. PROPOSAL BY ATTORNEY CALLISTER FOR LEASE OF DISTRICT OIL RIGHTS The following letter from Attorney Robert Callister relative to leasing the District1s oil rights was considered by the Board. Mr. Thomas Campbell December 17, 1956 Campbell Realty Company 135 South Fourth Street Las Vegas, Nevada Dear Mr. Campbell: I have been requested to approach you as President of the Las Vegas Land and Water Company concerning the oil rights on the land owned by the Las Vegas Land and Water Company in the City of Las Vegas. Mr. J. K. Wadley of Texarkana, Arkansas, is interested in leasing the land on an 1/8 royalty basis to the Las Vegas Land and Water Company, and is willing to commence drilling a well on the land in the very near future. In order that there need be no concern over the drilling operations adversely affecting the water company the lease, which I am willing to submit if you desire, should set forth that the oil well drilling operations be properly cased and cemented in such a way that there can be no adverse affect to the water rights. I would appreciate hearing from you concerning this matter at your very earliest opportunity.
