Water rates - Las Vegas. FEB 1 6 1931 Los Angeles, February 12, 1931. Mr. F. H. Knickerbocker* W / After considering your letter of February 3 with copy of Mr. Bracken*s letter of February 2 relative to the above, I think it would be well at this time to have a meeting at an early date of the representatives of the departments concerned, to readjust the schedule of rates heretofore tentatively prepared, so as to insure an Income of at least 6# on the investment, fha consideration of this matter haa been deferred ©wing to the illness of Mr. Jackson who had the details In hand, but I understand that the Chief Engineer’s office has all the information we require. February 20 would be a convenient time for him to attend a meeting here. 1 would therefore suggest that a meeting be held in my office on February 20 at 9*80 A.M., when all persons interested and having Imowledg^^of tHeTUetail thereof be present with such data as they may have available, and go over the matter and agree on the schedule of rates necessary to produce the required income. and ti e Chief Engineer's office, and, if there is no advice to the contrary, will assume that the meeting will be held at the time above stated. our schedule should be submitted at this time and made effective April 1st, or submitted say 30 days later, <& as the effective date and the hearing would be at a time when the weather oondL tlons would impress upon the minds of all interested, Including the Commission, the value of water in that torrid locality. I have had the matter up with Leo, and he advises that 1 am mailing copies of this letter to Mr. Bracken, Leo, There is a serious question in my mind as to whether F. R.
