The 600 GPD per capita indicates extravagant use of water. Mr. Jeffers has authorized a publicity campaign to which City officials and the local newspaper agree to give their full support. If through this medium the per capita consumption can be reduced to the still extravagant figure of *K)0 GPD per capita, a further excess of production capacity would be developed. Unquestionably, with control of leaky faucets, recapture from air conditioning units, and more reasonable use of water on lawns a substantial reduction in per capita use can be obtained. Prank Strong NOTE: The above does not include 300,000 GPD which we previously contemplated securing from chlorinating Middle Spring, as installation of pump on Well No. 5 indicates that we may possibly dry up this spring. Also, we have not allowed &00,000 GPD for railroad use, as Mr. Bracken advises me that the Railroad well on the shop grounds can be pumped to furnish all of the Railroad Co.'s needs. F.S.
