Halsted, copy of which waa seat i s ® , in reference to taxes, X thought best to call your attention to the assessment against the Las Vegas land & Eater Co. for the year 1927. Our total assessment for 1920 102*00 n 1 9 2 7 J^l22,689*00 a horizontal raise , of 14 587.00 Am X told you seme time ago, X anticipate going before the Board of Equalisation and have this assessment reduced. Our total book valuations, which are high, covering the Las Vegas land & Water Co.*a holdings in this county, amount to #201,167,67 and were we assessed at two-thirds our book value it would only be $134,111.78, and we are unjustly assessed in comparison with hotels and other properties here within the City limits. I expect to be in the City some time this week and will take this matter up with you personally before writing Mr.Calvin. Yours very truly, WRh/racp Vice President & Agent
