I*•*** %, Pl'^Xos Angelea, March 7, 19**5 Mr. W. H. Bracken: WAR £q• D1-9.4C5 733* (CC - Mr. Leo A. MoNamee Mr. E. E, Bennett) * * fy n\ V'-! | O/ Referring to Mr. McNamee’s letter March 5 ^ to attached copy of letter from State Engineer of March 3rd, relative to proposed drilling of Well No. 11: Concerning the State Engineer’s letter, please note the following: 1. We should hurry the map all possible, In order that publication may be started. Even then, If we cannot start drilling until after all formalities are compiled with, I fear that we will not be able to develop water for hot weather season this year. 2. If my understanding is correct with respeot to the Griffith application, I do not see that there is any conflict. I have always understood that Griffith proposed to produce from the upper horizon, whereas we propose to produce from the second horizon, or from 500 to 800 ft. 3. There is no map in this office showing exactly where the Griffith Subdivision is located. Will appreciate if you will furnish me a sketch so that I can locate the property on our map; also let me know if you have any ideas about offering wholesale service rate. Even if we offer such a rate, it is entirely possible it will not be acceptable to the Griffith Interests. With reference to the comment about developing additional water with pumps: We fully realize that the day is coming when all our wells will be on pump. Meantime; however, our experiments with pumps in Wells Nos. R, 5 ° have not been entirely successful. It is true we can inorease production, but in doing so, we increase the velocity of the water through the producing horizon and invite sand trouble. Latter difficulty has made our pumping wells unreliable at the time they are needed the most.
