I agree.3/20/65 FOR RELEASE UPON RECEIPT: SANDS APPOINTS NEW GENERAL MANAGER Las Vegas, Nevada (March 20) Mr. Fred Pinto of New York City has been appointed General Manager of the Sands Hotel here, it was announced by Sands Hotel President Jack Entratter and the Board of Directors. For the past two years Mr. Pinto was General Manager of the Warwick Hotel in New York City and just previous to that Manager of the British Colonial Hotel in Nassau, the Bahamas. Mr. Pinto was the last American hotel manager to leave Castro*s Cuba in 1960, after he had opened the Habana Riviera Hotel and helped guide it to a prominent place in the then flourishing resort. He is a former amateur light weight champion in New York City boxing Associations and is well known for his use of sports in building up his hotel posts. He will reside at the Sands with his wife, Lea. Entratter stated Mr. Pinto would carry through the architectural plans and board decisions on the new $9 million expansion of the Sands, which features a 17 storey high-rise tower, which will boost the Sands capacity to 777 suites and rooms. ####### Al Freeman Sands Hotel Las Vegas, Nevada
