    welcome to nsu
    14
    Dear NSU Student:
This 1966 edition of the Epilogue describes Nevada Southern University
and its students and faculty in a period of dynamic growth, development
and change. It deals with a young University well on its way to high
achievement in teaching, research and service to Nevada and the world.
Anyone directly associated with Nevada Southern University during
this year has felt the excitement of growth and the surge for new levels
of development in programs and facilities. There has been a strengthening
of undergraduate programs and a move toward the realization of
graduate programs. Construction of four new Radiological Health
buildings, the realization of campus landscaping, the preparation for
construction of the second and third stories to the Library and the
first dormitory and food service buildings have given us an added feeling
    of progress and achievement.
Certainly, the next decades will bring unbelievable growth and change
to Nevada Southern University. As these changes occur, this 1966 edition
of the Epilogue will serve to document the present stage of the University's
development -- which now totals 70 faculty members, 1790 regular
students and six major buildings--as well as assume greater meaning
and nostalgia for you as this year becomes more distant.
My best wishes are with you as you live and relive this Epilogue year
    at Nevada Southern University.
    Sincerely,

    . ___________
in the end, thought rules the world,
there are times when impulses and
passions are more powerful, but they
    soon expend themselves, while mind,
acting constantly, is ever ready to
drive them back and work when their
    energy is exhausted.
