Memo Luce & Goodfellow sell two makes of manufactured air- cooling machines, the DEZERT cooler and the AIR—Rite. Manufactured coolers are equipped with a small oopper quarter-inch line to simply wet the pads, as that is the manner in which maximum efficiency is secured from the machine. Too much water will hinder the cooling efficiency, and the instructions on each machine hear this information. During this year, Luce & Goodfellow have sold 50 of these. None sold last year. They have also sold 35 fans to he used in the manufacture of home-made cooling machines. The home-made cooling machines usually use a common garden hose (3/4") for taking in the water, and these are the worst offenders in the waste of water. Approximately 10 of the machines sold hy Luce & Good- fellow are equipped with recapture pumps, and these use practically no water. Two of the maximum capacity coolers installed this week on the Sprouse-Ritze Bldg use only a half-inch line to feed the two of them and are equipped with the recapture pumps. The factories in Los Angeles manufacturing these coolers are working continuous shifts to supply the demand, and these are shipped up hy Consolidated Ship^irs in order to expedite, going to Nevada, Wyoming and Utah. Some of the coolers are made and shipped from Phoenix.
